Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
1. Introduction
Business Together Limited (company registration number 9593738), trading as BTLITC, is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. This policy sets out our position on preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations, our supply chain, and any organisation we work with.
We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our corporate activities and ensuring our supply chains are free from these practices.
2. Legal Framework
This policy is informed by the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and applicable UK and international standards that prohibit forced labour, servitude, slavery, and human trafficking. We recognise the responsibility of all organisations to play a role in eradicating these practices, regardless of whether they meet the statutory threshold for published annual statements.
3. Scope
This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers. All of our business partners are expected to uphold the standards set out in this policy.
4. Our Commitments
- We will not engage in or tolerate forced labour, bonded labour, slavery, servitude, child labour, or human trafficking in any form.
- We will conduct appropriate due diligence on suppliers, contractors, and other third parties with whom we do business.
- We will require our suppliers to comply with applicable laws and to take reasonable steps to ensure that their own suppliers do the same.
- We will provide training and guidance to our team so that they can recognise the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking and respond appropriately.
- We will investigate and act on any credible report of modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chain.
5. Supplier Expectations
We expect suppliers and business partners to uphold equivalent standards to those described in this policy. This includes compliance with relevant employment legislation, payment of at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage where applicable, provision of safe working conditions, and respect for freedom of association.
Where we identify a risk or concern, we will engage with the supplier to agree corrective actions. Where credible evidence of slavery or human trafficking is identified and not remediated, we will terminate the relationship.
6. Reporting Concerns
All team members, contractors, and business partners are encouraged to report any concerns regarding modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chain. Reports should be directed to [email protected] or to your BTLITC point of contact. Reports will be handled confidentially and without retaliation.
7. Governance
The BTLITC leadership team is responsible for maintaining this policy, reviewing it annually, and ensuring its implementation across the organisation. Day-to-day responsibility sits with the Operations Director.
